FILM IS DEAD

I prefer inviting people into the story, rather than telling them one.

Don’t get me wrong, I love film and cinema. And there’ll always be a place for the good ol’ 30” TVC.

But this is my folio and y’know what excites me?

Wonky-shaped ideas. Tech-led innovations and products. Campaigns that push the discipline out of AV and into the real world – where people can play, share, interact and participate. All for a budget that most production houses won’t even get out of bed for.

This is when I get the most excited making stuff. When I’m right at the edge of my skillset. Hacking culture. Learning, growing, being exposed to new crafts and having no idea how we’ll pull it off. When I’m uncomfortable.

To prove I’m comfortable on-set (which is easy when you have runners bringing you catering, coffee and blankets) here’s a few film ads I’ve made. They all have an idea behind them and they all performed well for clients.

If film ads are right for the job, then film ads I can do.

But don’t be surprised when the first round of ideas are bigger than 16:9.

Telstra Small Business – Keeping IT Human

This film launched the platform we created for Telstra’s SMB offering: ‘Keeping IT Human’ and was their most successful film campaign in this category, ever.

7-Eleven x Velocity Partnership: Billie and Charlie

People are obsessed with collecting Velocity points. To show they can now earn them on food, fuel, coffee and more at 7-Eleven we created exaggerated characters that satirised the competitiveness we saw in the Velocity community.

Officeworks Christmas: Give Something Bigger

Everything at Officeworks is the start of an interest, a hobby, a passion or a career. For their Christmas campaign we encouraged people to think past the big day and, instead, give presents that will stir something in the people they care about.

ahm health insurance – Fake Covers for Real Life

People don’t hurt themselves in cool ways. We get cricked necks from sneezing, bad breath right when we’re about to kiss someone or bad backs from thinking ‘how hard could monkey bars be?’ To encourage people to sign up to ahm, we created fake covers for the ways people hurt themselves in real life.

P.s. Don’t try the monkey bars as an adult unless you want to be reminded of your age.
